About Quantitative Aptitude

Quantitative Aptitude tests how quickly and accurately you work with numbers. It covers the number system (HCF, LCM, divisibility and remainders), percentages, profit and loss, ratio and averages, time, speed and work, and simple and compound interest. Most questions are short arithmetic problems that can be solved in under a minute with the right method.

Every question here is generated from a worked method, so each answer is calculated rather than recalled, and every explanation shows the full working. The wrong options are the answers you get from the most common mistakes, such as taking a percentage of the wrong base.

How to prepare

  • Learn the basic formulas first, then practise until each type takes under a minute.
  • Read what the question asks for: the interest or the amount, the profit or the selling price.
  • Check whether a percentage is on the cost price, the marked price or the selling price.
  • Convert units before calculating: km/h to m/s means multiplying by 5/18.
